Goodbye sweet Scallop

Well, I have been postponing this for as long as possible. We lost Scallop last week to a faulty incubator. Everyone was devastated.

They had gotten a grant for these incubators and they weren't cheap. I guess they have had, in the past, all 4 in for repairs. And to top it all off, the one remaining one started burning when we plugged it in to heat up for a baby wood duck we got in! Then I learned that the incubator company is out of business so this wonderful organization can't even get their money back. These are the types of things that really bring me down and keep me bummed for days afterwards.

I'll write more later about the new patients with pics. I want the next post to be more positive.

Oh, no! At least Scallop got to enjoy the loving care of a great group of humans before she left you. You all probably made her little life that much better.
